Ingredients

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 ½ cups pecan halves finely chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 to 8 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • 24 ounces chocolate almond bark

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, maple syrup, and chopped pecans.
  2. Add just enough melted butter to bring the mixture together so it holds its shape.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls, placing each on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. Chill the balls in the refrigerator or freezer for one hour.
  5. Melt the almond bark according to the package instructions.
  6. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate and place it back on the parchment-lined tray.
  7. Let the chocolate harden completely before serving.

Notes

  • Freezing the pecan pie balls for one hour helps them hold their shape while dipping.
  • For a twist, add a tablespoon of bourbon to the mixture for an adult version.
  • These can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or frozen for up to 3 months.
